Back in Action

I've been away for a while but I'm working hard to get back in to making things. The break has been good however as I have been able to refocus and figure out where I want to go with RichWorks.

My goals moving forward are to

  • Continue making fully custom unique bags in addition to the products in the store
  • Start designing and building larger bags like backpacks and duffels
  • Improve the customer experience for custom builds.

When I stopped making products in July I left a lot of customers hanging that I told I would be able to make for. This was something I felt really bad about and want to change this time around. In order to do this I'm going to do all custom orders through the website and create individual one time products for those customers. This way will help keep my records in order and hold me more accountable.

In addition to this, All customers who order full custom products will get their own build page where I will upload progress pictures of their build from start to finish. These pages won't be private but will have a unique URL only given to you. You can share it with as many or as few people as you'd like.

As you can see, I've also updated the website design once again to reflect the current state of the business. The Custom page is an awesome new page where I will upload images and details of custom products I've done for all to see. There's already some good ones up!

The online store will go live again on DECEMBER 1ST for preorders

Orders will start to be Fulfilled DECEMBER 23RD

I want to be able to hit the ground running as soon as I can start again so this is why I'm doing the "preorder" for a few weeks prior to when I'll be able to start.

Incoming Pockets!

I received an inquiry from a potential customer about a pocketed iphone 5 sleeve.  I've definitely had some other interest in pockets but this was the first person to actually want to purchase one. I told him I would give it a shot and see how it turned out. He also wanted a tan and orange color way which is something I hadn't done yet so I was excited to make his sleeve. I was kind of surprised that it actually came out pretty perfect the first shot. The pocket is perfect for holding some extra cash and an I.D. or other cards! Check out the pictures below!

Pockets are now available on phone sleeves only for an extra 5 dollars!

Gamers Unite!

I had a customer request a Playstation Vita sleeve a few weeks ago. I was pretty siked because I was waiting for someone to ask for one since I know the market for handheld gaming device cases is pretty weak. The sleeve turned out awesome! Check out the images below from the customer with his sleeve and Vita!

You can find the Vita sized sleeve under the tablet device options.

Follow RichWorks on Twitter & Pintrest

Just got the Twitter and Pintrest accounts all set up and ready to go. Please follow us on twitter @RichWorksGear and on Pintrest under "RichWorksGear". I'm pretty new to both platforms so I can't guarantee much awesome content right off the bat. Any help to spread the word about RichWorks on those sites is HUGELY appreciated. Thanks!

Thread City

Just want to send out a quick thank you to Thread City Apparel for exchanging one of their awesome tees for one of my sleeves. Thread City is a new clothing start up launched by some of my classmates from college; Jeff Ryan and Paddy Rafferty. Thread City, much like RichWorks, is about starting something new and seeing what happens. I'm looking forward to what else the guys at Thread City come up with and maybe even some collaborations in the future! Go check them out and buy a shirt!

Thank you Carryology!

Carryology is a blog that's all about, you guessed it, the things you carry everyday. From backpacks to wallets and duffel bags to suitcases, they cover a little bit of everything. What's awesome about carryology is that they don't just post about every pack and bag at walmart, they write about the good stuff. They write about the stuff that's innovative, well designed, fashionable and functional. If you are looking for a new carry item then checking out carryology is an absolute must. Even if you have no idea what you are looking for, the guys that run the blog are really nice and ridiculously knowledgeable about all things carry.

Naturally as a new carry brand I contacted them looking for advice about the new RichWorks website and my product's. To my suprise they liked my sleeves and ran a great interview with me on the carryology website!  You can check out the interview here. This post got RichWorks a lot of exposure and really helped get the brand off the ground. I can't say how grateful I am to the people at Carryology for that little post and because of them I am already shipping product all over the globe! Below is a short list of posts from Carryology that I particularly enjoyed reading recently:

Eco-Carry: This post discusses the factors carry brands face when trying to create product's with the earth in mind.

Boreas Interview: Boreas makes AWESOME looking and functioning back packs. This interview focuses on their new pack system and kickstarter campaign.

Slimming Your Wallet: This post is all about turning that brick in your back pocket into a streamlined ninja star of a wallet.
